Gene Effect takes place in the not so distant future. Mankind explores space using an ancient technology found in an abandoned alien ore mine on Mars. We are now capable of exploiting resources from foreign planets. One day a mining vessel is missing on the planet Kratoss. What starts as a simple rescue mission turns into the discovery of a secret that threatens the existence of mankind.

Gameplay:

Gene Effect is a side scrolling action-adventure. Explore ancient alien mines on the planet Kratoss. Collect resources on your way through deep mines and fight against natural phenomena, biological threats and mechanical devices. You can solve optional puzzles that unlock hidden areas containing relicts, artifacts and other goodies.

Upgrade your ship with artifacts and experience an epic story that unfolds using multiple, interweaved storylines.

Enjoy Gene Effect over and over again with randomized level content, 3 difficulty levels and different play styles.

WOW. 1 word, EPIC. Easily one of the best games for the iPhone. Stunning graphics. Great gameplay. And super smooth control. I am thoroughly impressed, and highly recommend it to anyone!! Well worth the money. Great game!!

This, my friends, is the best game in the history of all games. I grew up with Famicom and have seen everything. From quarters in my pocket to lost hours on consoles. Nothing beats the thrill and attention to detail of Gene Effect. I would gladly pay more money for this. Get it! Dont regret it!

Im shocked to see only 7 reviews. This game has the potential for many many more review (well in the hundreds)! This game is beautifully designed and the colors are rich! The soundtrack is dark (like a mix of Tron and The Dark Knight). The controls are much better that of the previous version. The storyline is VERY interesting! As for gameplay....... well...... it is repetitive and finding those special ARTIFACTS can be very VERY difficult to collect. Never the less, keep an open mind to this game and IT WILL ENTERTAIN YOU! Note: Please add a strategy guide onto your website. I would like to collect all artifacts and relics. Thank you

Wonderful engaging game. I love the fact that is so easy to control the triton. The graphics alone are worth it. The music is a nice touch to the atmosphere. If you enjoy adventure games please get this now !!!!Its a relax game that lets you explore and enjoy every second. I love smart adventure games, and this I can honestly say is on my top 3 games. If you like waking mars get this. I cant believe how cool and smart this game is.

Some bad moments

This game is boring and you can barely see unless you turn the brightness really high.

This game is probably the worst game I have played on my phone.... Its super boring, all you do is fly around in a cave trying to collect minerals... No action,etc.. Also the cave is pitch black, you cant see a thing, they could have made the cave brighter or something... So dumb..

Its not often I find a game I want to play but for whatever reason I am unable to do so. The problem with this game is that I cant see anything. It is way too dark. I am all for atmosphere and such but I do have limits. Even with the brightness setting in the game set all the way up I am barely able to see what is happening around the ship. If that is fixed I will be able to give this more stars.

Nice looking graphics, if I could see them... The game is just too dark. The controls are solid, but the gameplay is boring. The story is throw away and overly complex. Not enough to keep me engaged beyond the tutorial and the first few missions.

Flying around REAL slow avoiding the occasional stalactite, stalagmite, or gas-spewing flower while sucking up minerals grows tiresome rather fast. Stunning graphics, but just not very engaging.

Those who gave this piece of garbage such good reviews. All I can say is Im glad it didnt cost me anything or Id really be miffed. Its so dark you can barely see the ship youre supposed to be piloting. Even the tutorial...if thats what youd call it...is hard. I think it needs an easy mode to ease people into the game. The tutorial doesnt cut it. If this ever goes back to paid, save your money. ,
